Walking and Climbing

2 for the price of 1!

Here's a video of Strummer outside. He first walked his hippo up the sidewalk to the front steps. Then proceeded to climb up the steps to the door. We have a VERY active 9 month old! :P

9 Months!

Waiting for Dr. Parsons

Still Waiting - Being on the table wasn't working to swell :P

Strummer found the lego table and drawers full of toys

After his appointment - he LOVES to climb!

Strummer had his 9 month check up last week. He has stopped his major growth spurting - actually it stopped after his 4-month check-up. So now he's a more 'average' height I guess. He is less than average weight. Dr. Parsons says it's b/c he is more active than the average 9 month old, so we just need to offer him food even more often than what we already do! hee-hee-hee!
Other than that, he's perfectly healthy! Developing like he should be and she thought it won't be to long b/f he starts walking! So we'll keep an eye out for that! STILL no teeth - however his doctor said she's not to concerned unless he's like 14 months. So we have awhile :P. He'll just be our loveable, adorable toothless baby. PLUS - no shots for this appointment! He will be getting quite a few at his 12 month. The regular shots he's scheduled to receive, plus the flu shot and the H1N1 shot. Luckily he takes his shots 'like a man'. In other words, he really doesn't cry or fuss! He's so brave!

His new stats are:
Height: 28-1/2 inches
Weight: 17 lbs - 8 oz.

So he grew almost an inch in 3 months, but only gained 8 oz.

He keeps changing everyday! I can't believe how fast our little guy is growing up!

Mr. Adventerous

Our upstairs....there are also 2 more steps at the top you can't see

Starting at the bottom

Ending at the top!

Strummer was very proud of himself

Daddy, let me in! :D

Strummer decided he wanted to climb the steps up to our house. On a side note, 2 days ago he ventured to climb upstairs, which are more narrow. He went all the way up to surprise daddy! Who was very surprised, b/c he didn't see me at the top, he thought Strummer went up by himself! :P

BTW - i was RIGHT behind him to make sure he didn't fall back.

I was planning on posting a video for the last 2 days, but for some reason it won't upload. So instead of waiting and waiting and waiting....I'll just post pics instead! You'll just have to believe me. :P

The video is on facebook, but in the meantime, I'll figure out if I can post it on Blogger!

We have a little climber in our house! He'll climb onto anything! :P

Have a fabulous day!

Meeting Baby Maverick

The first time (should have had Trisha look) Strummer is looking at the TV

Strummer, Maverick and I - again my son is looking at the TV

Baby Maverick! So Adorable!

Strummer w/his container of Cheerios on our way back home

Today, Strummer and I walked back to the hospital this afternoon. I called Shannon to check when it would be a good time to come so we headed on over. (I LOVE living in an area where we can walk almost anywhere we need to get to).

We were the only ones visiting, so we stayed for awhile chatting w/Shannon and Jeremy. I was able to hold Maverick for quite awhile. It was pretty awesome! I knew he would be light, compared to when Strummer was born, but he felt like a feather! Especially compared to Strummer now! hee-hee-hee

Strummer hung out in his stroller eating cheerios and playing a game w/Jeremy. The I'm going to drop my book and wait for you to retrieve it game. He also did it later on when I gave him a container of cheerios.

Strummer really didn't seem to interested in a little baby. I think he may have been confused that I was holding someone and it wasn't him! He was interested in the TV that was on! :P

Maverick is so cute and such a little guy! It's really crazy to think 9 months ago Strummer was that little (okay, he was never that SMALL) but you kinda of forget on how calm newborns are. How they don't really move and sleep all the time! Plus how careful you need to be when dressing him and having the feed them every couple of hours!

Thanks Jeremy and Shannon for letting us come visit! I know Strummer will be excited one day when Maverick is a little bigger! Congrats on your new baby boy!

Happy 4th of July!

These are just a few photos that I took. Click on the title of the post and you can see my album on facebook for our time in Okoboji.

Yes, Some day I will post things right after they happen, but until then, it's going to be after-the-fact (i really think it should be a goal of mine!)

So for the weekend of the 4th, we went to Okoboji and spent time w/my parents, Sara and Scott. It was a lot of fun, however, slightly chilly, but that didn't stop us from going out on the boat a couple times! Strummer had lots of firsts, he went to his first fishing store, he had his first meal of Mexican food, he had his first boat ride (which he seemed to like, he didn't cry), his first fireworks display (all though he was asleep) and his first time getting a bath in the big tub!

It was a lot of fun being able to chill w/part of our family. We even saw our cousins (well my mom's cousin) who happen to live in the same condo complex as my parents. So that was pretty cool!

Friday evening we had a double date w/the Lockard's. We strolled around Arnold's Park, looked for a coffee shop (all though, they were all closed) and went to the Barefoot Bar. All though it was kinda misting. It was still fun! However, was not happy that apparently since it's an 'outdoor' restaurant people were allowed to smoke...boo!!! The next day I did see they have a section that's closer to the restaurant area where smoking was not allowed. So I guess that's a plus. Oh and I bought Strummer a Barefoot Bar T-shirt!

Saturday we spent the day going boating, touring around Okoboji area and then going to the fireworks out on the lake. That was also lots of fun! Especially watching the fireworks over the water. Of course it started getting 'nice' as the sun was going down, but at least it was good weather for the fireworks! After that we headed back to Algona...arrived around midnight.

On Sunday, Sara, Brad and I did a few duets. One as a special (Sara and I sang and Brad played guitar) the other as the offertory. Which Mike Rusch came and sang w/us for that one. I haven't sang in front a large group of people probably since HS when my sisters and I sang as a trio. It was nice 'getting back on stage' with a/mic! Obviously, I'm very used to being on stage, but not using my voice! hee-hee-hee!
We also had Strummer dedicated at my home church. My parent's were not able to make it to his dedication at Cornerstone in November, so we wanted to do one at FBC. Plus it's where I grew up and where Brad and I got married. So that was really cool (PS - thanks for doing that Pastor Kevin)

After the dedication I took Strummer into the nursery. It was very strange having him during the first part of the service since he's in the nursery from the beginning at Cornerstone. He did really well. Started 'singing' during the songs, then during our first special we gave him to Uncle Scott and he took a little snooze! (Good job Scott). So anyways, when I got to the nursery area I saw Rich and Randi Black were in charge! I was so excited! Rich and Randi have known me since I was really little!!! They loved having Strummer there and was impressed w/everything he does! I told them Evan (their adorable grandson) will be doing all those things before you know it! Strummer also made a new friend, Will Limbaugh. He just turned a year old. I'm sure they will be good buddies next time we head to FBC.

Bradley and Era were also nice enough to drive ALL THE WAY from Omaha on Sunday morning to make it for the 10:30 service! I was very appreciative of that (thanks guys!). Then after church we went to Godfather's. It was Strummer's first time there and he had some taco pizza! Just like what mommy and daddy had on our first date!

We then went back to my parent's house then later when everyone got back, Strummer, my sisters, mom and I went to the CC pool. It was a BLAST! I was so happy for Strummer to 'go swimming' w/my sisters! With Era being a former lifegaurd and Sara a PT, he was in good hands!

It was a very fun and long weekend! I was so happy to hang w/my family (all though, we were missing Mike, Crystal, Hannah and Ian). It will be fun going up to Okoboji every 4th of July!!!

Strummer's Dedication. PS - it's small and grainy b/c I forgot I still had it on the compact mode setting. Thanks for taking the video and pics Sare! :D

June 27th

I had to beg brad to take just ONE pic! hee-hee-hee

Okay, yes this is a bit late :P

On June 27, 2003 Brad and I went out on our first date. So every June 27th we try and celebrate it in someway. This year we decided to back to Algona. I don't think we had been back to the Godfather's in Algona since 2003. We usually go to Godfather's in Boone. Because we ALWAYS go and order a Taco pizza on that date. It just depends on where we are at the time. Since my parents were in Lincoln visiting Scott and Sara for their BBQ they had for the people who couldn't attend their wedding, we decided to head to Mason City first to my mother-in-law's house. We dropped off Strummer and Bosco then headed to Algona for the night. That's right it was our first time that we were w/out our son overnight. We have individually been away but not together. So, we went to Godfather's and had our taco pizza. Then we headed to go play mini-golf. After that we headed back to my parent's house and just chilled the rest of the evening. It was slightly odd not having Strummer around, but it was a good time for us to just be by ourselves and re-connect w/each other :D

The next day we headed to FBC and people were happy to see us, but curious why Strummer wasn't w/us! hee-hee-hee! That's what happens when you have a kid, if they aren't w/you people ask you where they are at! Then after church we went to the Mexican restaurant (can't remember the name) for lunch then headed back to MC to pick up Strummer. We had a good report back from Kay saying he did just fine! Thank goodness we have such an easy-going kid!

It was a wonderful weekend!

Scott and Sara become the Slockard's!

2 weeks ago my little sister got married to Scott Lockard! Sara is the last of the Berg siblings to get married! So my parents had the 3 girls married w/in 5 years and Mike just celebrated his 9th wedding anniversary!

It was a beautiful wedding and fun weekend. The girls and I started it off on Friday heading into Okoboji for Sara's bachelorette party! It was fun hanging w/everyone....especially for me. B/C I really haven't had a real girl's night since Strummer has been born! So it's been a LONG time!
Our parents let us use their condo to stay at on Friday, so we were able to meet there then head 'out on the town'. We went to Tweeter's for supper. They were really busy so it took awhile, but their food was awesome! I had their buffalo chicken sandwich and it rocked! It was a broiled chicken dunked in the hot wing sauce! Yum-O! After we were all done eating we headed to The Ritz. There was a live band playing on the top deck so we hung out there for awhile. We even saw a large group of guys that were all from Algona. Some of which I went to HS with (all though they were a few years older). I don't think they recognized me, but I knew who they were :P. We also ran into Era's friend Tucker from HS! It's crazy how many Algona people we saw in Okoboji! We then headed back to the condo for some more fun and present opening! It was a great night!

Saturday we hung out at the pool, ate, then went to Algona for the rehearsal since The Inn was booked w/a wedding on sat, so they couldn't have the rehearsal there. After we went through everything we ate a fabulous meal that was made by the Lockard's! (Thanks Dave, Jochy and all your family). It was so-so good!!! Strummer even enjoyed it. I had in try some brisket the Dave made and he gobbled it up! (It's so handy he can feed himself now!)

Sunday was the wedding!!! We started the morning out at the salon and had our hair done. Then off the condo to get ready!!! I won't go into details, but the wedding was beautiful!! It was a perfect day for a wedding on the lake!

Now my sister is Mrs. Sara Lockard. Looks really strange to me right now :P
BTW - Someone in the wedding party came up w/their name being the Slockard's. Since it's Scott and Sara Lockard hee-hee-hee
